Terms & Conditions
1. Bookings
Classes and workshops are booked as described on each listing. Places are limited and are confirmed on receipt of payment. Private and group bookings are confirmed in writing, including by email, with the details agreed for that booking.
2. Eligibility
Each class, club or workshop states its age range and any eligibility requirements. Participants must only book sessions they are eligible to attend.
3. Materials and clothing
Mittika provides the instructors, materials, tools and equipment described in each booking. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothing, as clay is messy.
4. Health and safety

Participants must follow instructor guidance at all times.

Tools and equipment are used under instructor supervision only.

No eating or drinking during sessions.

Participants should tell the instructor if they feel unwell or uncomfortable.

Participation may be paused if safety rules are not followed.

Participation is at the individual's own risk. Mittika is not liable for injury, loss or damage resulting from failure to follow instructions or from medical conditions not disclosed in advance.
5. Accessibility and wellbeing
Please email hello@mittika.uk in advance with any allergies, medical conditions, additional needs or accessibility requirements so we can support participants properly.
6. Safeguarding and supervision
Mittika instructors are DBS-checked but attend in an instructional capacity only. Where a host organisation manages registration, it must collect consent and medical, allergy and additional-needs information in advance and share relevant information with Mittika before the session. The host organisation's safeguarding policy applies on site.
7. Venue requirements
Unless Mittika provides the venue, the client will provide a suitable space, furniture, power and hand-washing facilities, help with setup and clearing, and a brief site orientation covering fire exits and first aid. The client is responsible for general venue safety. Mittika will leave the space as clean as reasonably possible.
8. Firing, glazing and breakages

Firing and glazing are included only where specified in the booking.

Pieces that break before firing cannot proceed to the next stage.

Firing and glazing outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Mittika is not responsible for pieces that crack, warp or break during drying, firing, glazing or finishing, as this is a natural part of working with clay.
9. Collection and late fees
For drop off sessions, late collection fees may apply as stated on the relevant listing and are payable on the day.
10. Fees and payment
Fees are stated at the time of booking and must be paid as specified to confirm a place. Fixed fees for private and group bookings apply regardless of final attendance, up to the confirmed numbers.
11. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including extreme weather, fire, flood, strikes, transport disruption, government restrictions, public health emergencies, power failure, venue closure, or instructor illness or unavailability. The affected party will notify the other as soon as reasonably practicable. Where possible, we will offer a rescheduled date.
12. Liability and insurance
Mittika holds public liability insurance and will provide a certificate on request. Private and group clients confirm their venue holds appropriate insurance.
13. Data protection and photography
Each party will comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where photographs or video are to be used for marketing, the booker or host organisation is responsible for obtaining consent in advance and confirming this to Mittika in writing.
14. Confidentiality
For private and group bookings, each party will keep commercially sensitive information confidential, except as required by law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. For private and group bookings, the written confirmation together with these terms is the entire agreement.
